Got a 3/8 tube on one end and a 1/4 on the other, this the right part to step those down?

That's what this one's built for. One end handles 3/8 tube O.D. with an 11/16-16 thread, and the other steps down to 1/4 tube O.D. on a 7/16-20 thread. If those sizes match what you're working with, you've got the right adapter.

For stepping between those two tube sizes, this adapter matches 3/8 tube O.D. on one end and 1/4 tube O.D. on the other, with 11/16-16 threads on the 3/8 side and 7/16-20 threads on the 1/4 side.
