Will this fitting hold up if its runnin hydraulic fluid all day long?

Dura-Kote plating gives this fitting good corrosion resistance, so it should be able to handle continuous hydraulic fluid exposure in most industrial settings.

got a -6 hose and need to kick the line over some, is this the elbow that’ll do it?

For a -6 dash hydraulic hose assembly where you need a directional change, this fitting is a 45 degree SAE swivel elbow. It connects the hose side to a 5/8 inch SAE 90 female end, and the swivel lets you rotate it to line things up during install.

fitting's got a 45° swivel on it, does that mean I can rotate it after the hose is crimped on, or is it fixed once everything's torqued down?

The swivel feature is specifically there to let you make rotational adjustments during installation and maintenance, so you're not locked into one position once the hose is crimped. That makes a real difference when you're trying to route lines in a tight space and need a little give to get everything lined up without putting stress on the assembly.
