So, this thing's made of carbon steel, reckon it'll hold up to the summer heat and winter cold without rusting out on me?
Question by: Kurt W on May 25, 2025, 6:08 PM
Carbon steel gives it good durability, especially when dealing with the kind of temperature swings you see in refrigeration systems. You should get a good service life out of it, even with the thermal cycling.

Trying to splice a -6 A/C hose in the middle, is this the kind of fitting that joins two hose ends together?
Question by: Jimmy W on Mar 11, 2026, 9:41 PM
Built as an inline hose splicer, the FJ3171-0606S connects two hose ends together in one fitting assembly. It is part of the Eaton E-Z Clip system and uses a barb on one side with a line, hose, or tube style connection on the other.

what's the charge port setup on this fitting, is it a standard size or something proprietary?
Question by: Ray R on Feb 24, 2026, 7:36 AM
The switch port on this fitting is 7/16-20, which is a standard thread size used for service access in A/C and refrigeration circuits. It lets you hook up a charge port connection without needing any special or one-off adapter, so it fits right into a normal service workflow.
