Does this fitting need any thread sealant or special prep before putting it on, or can you just thread it right up?

No sealant needed and no mandrel required either. Just thread it on and you're good to go. Kuriyama built this one to keep the install simple, which is real handy when you're working fast or don't have a full kit on hand.
