Does the Dura-Kote plating on this kit actually hold up in wet or corrosive conditions, or is that just marketing talk?

Dura-Kote is a legitimate corrosion-resistant finish, not a buzzword. Carbon steel on its own would rust out pretty quick in wet or chemical-heavy environments, but the plating gives it real protection for long-term use in harsh conditions. That's part of why this kit gets spec'd into demanding industrial setups where standard uncoated fittings would fail early.
