Product Questions & Answers

got a tight spot on a hydraulic line. what exactly is this FF5164-1616S adapter doing for me
Question by: Randy P on Sep 29, 2025, 10:24 AM
It’s a 90 degree elbow adapter that lets you turn the line while keeping SAE 37 degree flare connections on both ends. One side is SAE 37 flare female and the other side is SAE 37 flare male, so it’s used to join two JIC style flare connections and change direction without switching to a different end type.

Does the coating on this fitting actually hold up in wet or dirty environments, or is it just there to look nice?
Question by: Neal B on Oct 7, 2025, 6:22 AM
Dura-Kote plating is a serious corrosion protection finish, not cosmetic. It's built to handle exposure to moisture and grime over time, which is exactly why Eaton uses it on fittings that end up in demanding hydraulic setups. Carbon steel on its own would rust out fast in those conditions, but the plating gives it real staying power.
