got a 1-1/4 female NPT port on a manifold block and need to tie into a straight thread O-ring fitting, this the right adapter for that?

does this adapter need any thread sealant when you put it on, or does the o-ring handle all that?

The o-ring on the SAE O-Ring Boss end takes care of the seal, and no thread sealant is required on this adapter. That simplifies installation quite a bit since you're not dealing with tape or paste on either end. Just make sure the o-ring seats properly and you're good to go.
