got a hose end that’s 1/2-14 female BSPP, will this mate up to my 3/4-16 JIC line without any funny business

That's what this one's built for. One end is 1/2-14 Female BSPP, which is the British Parallel thread, and the other end is 3/4-16 Male JIC with the 37-degree flare seat.
