Does the 4-lug Chicago fitting on this thing actually thread straight into a standard 2-inch female NPT port, or is there some adapter needed in between?

A standard 2-inch female NPT connection is built right into this fitting, so it threads directly into any matching NPT-tapped port without an adapter. The 4-lug Chicago side handles the air hose coupling end, and the NPT side takes care of the threaded connection to your equipment or manifold. As long as your port is a true 2-inch NPT, you're good to go.
