Got a -04 diagnostic port on a test manifold and need to cap it off between uses. This the right part for that, or am I barking up the wrong tree?

That's what this cap is for. The FD90-1040-04 is a -04 coupling size dust cap built for diagnostic quick disconnect ports following the SAE J1502 interchange standard.
