This FD90 series fitting is designed specifically for diagnostic pressure testing in hydraulic systems. The self-sealing valve lets you connect and disconnect with up to 500 psi pressure in the line.

what's the fluid loss on this thing when you connect or disconnect it? trying to keep my test rig clean and don't want hydraulic fluid spraying everywhere every time i hook up a gauge

Fluid loss on connect and disconnect is held to 0.10 cubic centimeters, and air inclusion stays at 0.02 cubic centimeters. That flush face valve design is what keeps both of those numbers that low. For diagnostic work where you're swapping gauge ports regularly, that's about as clean as it gets in this coupling class.
