trying to match up fittings here. is this one a 1/4 inch male pipe thread on one end?

On the threaded side you are getting a 1/4 inch male pipe thread (MPT). The other end is meant to connect into a line, hose, or tube assembly, and the fitting is sized for a -4 hose dash.
