What kind of corrosion protection does this fitting have, and is it gonna hold up in a wet or dirty environment?

Dura-Kote plating is applied to the exterior, which gives it solid corrosion resistance even when conditions get rough. Carbon steel is the base material, so the plating is doing real work there to keep rust and degradation from shortening the life of the fitting. For environments with moisture, grime, or general exposure, that combination is what makes this fitting hold up longer than an uncoated alternative.
