Product Questions & Answers

got a pump setup that has to pull water and then push it back out, will this hose handle both suction and discharge?
Question by: Tony C on Jan 3, 2026, 4:10 PM
For water transfer jobs where the line sees suction on the inlet and discharge on the outlet, this hose is built for that kind of work. It is intended for heavy duty transfer of water, pumping and suction, and discharge of water and slurries, with reinforcement that includes high-tensile synthetic textile plus a steel helix wire to help it hold its shape.

hose is rated down to -40°F -- does that mean it'll hold up running slurry in a freezing cold pump house all winter without getting stiff or cracking on me?
Question by: Neal C on Jan 8, 2026, 7:43 PM
Cold weather performance is actually one of the stronger points on this hose. The EPDM tube and cover are both formulated to stay flexible at temperatures as low as -40 degrees, so running slurry through a cold pump house over a full winter season is well within what this hose is built for. EPDM holds up to low temps better than a lot of other elastomers, and the steel helix wire reinforcement keeps the hose from collapsing under suction even when conditions get rough. You shouldn't see the kind of stiffening or surface cracking that shows up on lesser covers in that kind of environment.
