A few specific items are needed beyond the fitting itself. You'll need FT1357 Clip Closing Pliers to close the clips properly, a guillotine blade cutter like the FT1356 or something equivalent to get a clean square cut on the hose, two appropriately sized clips and a cage, GH134 Multi-Refrigerant hose, and refrigerant oil that's compatible with your refrigeration or A/C system. That oil isn't optional either. You have to lubricate the nipple before pushing it into the hose or the insertion force gets way too high.
