got a metric M10 test point on my machine. is this the right coupling to hook up for diagnostics

Does this test coupling have a check valve built into it, or is it strictly a pass-through style fitting?

No check valve on this one. The DP7005-10 is built without adjustable ends or check valves, so it's meant for controlled diagnostic setups where those features aren't needed. If your application calls for a check valve, you'd be looking at a different coupling series.
