What exactly is this fitting doing, like which end connects to what?

Side 1 carries a DIN Tube connection with an M12 x 1.5 thread and an L06 size rating. Side 2 is a metric male connection running M10 x 1.0 at 10mm. So basically it bridges a DIN tube port over to a metric threaded fitting in a straight-through configuration. Both sides are male, and the whole thing is steel construction.

A 14mm wrench flat is what you'll need to tighten this fitting.

trying to match up a straight adapter i’ve got, is this one the DIN tube to metric with M12 x 1.5 on one end and M10 x 1.0 on the other?

For fit confirmation, the callouts on this straight steel fitting are M12 x 1.5 on Side 1 (DIN tube, male, size L06) and M10 x 1.0 on Side 2 (metric, male, 10 mm).
