What kind of fittings work best with this hose, or does it even matter much?

This hose works well with hose barb fittings, standard hose clamps, and crimp ferrules, so you've got some flexibility there.

hose says it's clear, can you actually see what's flowing through it well enough to use it as a sight gauge?

got a 1 inch barb and clamps already, will this hose play nice with that or am i askin for trouble

It’s a 1.00 inch ID hose and it’s listed as compatible with hose barb fittings using hose clamps, and it can also be crimped with ferrules if that’s your setup.
