what thread size does this cap actually use? the listing says -12 BSPP but also shows 3/4-14 and i just want to make sure im ordering the right one

Both call out the same thread. The -12 BSPP designation and 3/4-14 refer to the same size, just written two different ways. You're looking at a 3/4 inch British Parallel thread with 14 threads per inch, female, on a 60 degree seat. As long as your port matches that, you're good to go.
