these cables need any greasing or oiling after they're installed, or do they pretty much take care of themselves?
Question by: Peggy H on Dec 28, 2025, 6:32 PM
Factory lubrication is already applied to the polymer liner before the cable ships, so there's nothing extra you need to do once it's in place. The liner is rated to handle temperatures from -65F all the way up to 225F without breaking down, and the core will keep performing without any additional service. The exclusive polymer rod and sleeve bearing also helps by eliminating metal-to-metal contact, which cuts down on friction and wear over time. Basically, once it's installed, the lubrication side of things is handled.
