fitting says reusable, does that mean I can pull it off the hose and put it back on a new one, or is that just marketing talk?

Reusable in this case means exactly what it says. The socketless design lets you remove the fitting from the hose and reinstall it on a replacement without any special tooling or a crimping machine. That's a real advantage when you're working in the field and don't have a shop press nearby. Just make sure the hose is cut clean and square at 0.83 inches as specified, and the fitting will seat properly on the new hose.

got a -04 hose and need a straight male pipe thread end, is this the one with 1/4-18?

For fit and thread match, it’s a straight brass reusable socketless fitting with a 1/4-18 male NPTF pipe thread on one end and a -04 hose connection on the other.

Will this fitting work with standard NPT threads, or is there something special I need to know?

This fitting uses a 1/4-18 Male NPT thread, so it should work fine with any standard female NPT fitting of the same size. Just be sure to use an appropriate sealant.

Does this fitting need any kind of thread sealant when you put it together, or do you have to go pick some up before you get started?

No sealant needed on this one. The 1/4-18 Male NPT connection on this Aeroquip fitting is built to seal up without tape or compound, which saves you a step and keeps the assembly cleaner overall.
