Does this sleeve need a mandrel to put on, or is it one of them where you just crimp it straight up?

No mandrel required on this one. You can go straight to crimping without any additional tooling for that step, which keeps the installation process pretty straightforward. It's built for the 2807-6 and FC807-6 hoses, so as long as you're working with those, you're set.
