Product Questions & Answers

Wondering if this fitting would work okay for a low-pressure water line on my pond pump?
Question by: Phil J on Jan 9, 2026, 5:38 PM
Designed for low pressure fluid transfer, suction, and discharge, this brass fitting should work well in that application.

what size hose does this barb end fit onto exactly
Question by: Ronnie M on Apr 2, 2025, 6:38 AM
The barb end is sized for 1/4 inch inside diameter hose. Pair it with the right clamps and make sure they're seated properly, because on shank type fittings like this one, your actual working pressure depends on the hose construction, how many clamps you're using, and where they're placed.

got a 1/4 inch hose and need to screw into a 5/8-18 flare port, is this the right fitting?
Question by: Larry R on Apr 13, 2025, 8:57 AM
You are looking at a 1/4 inch hose ID barb on one end and a 5/8-18 SAE 45 degree female flare swivel on the other, in a straight configuration. If your hose is 1/4 inch ID and your port is 5/8-18 SAE 45 degree flare, the end sizes and thread callouts match.
