fitting says "socketless", does that mean I don't need any kind of crimping tool or press to put it together?

Socketless fittings go together without crimping equipment. You assemble them by hand using basic wrenches, which makes them a solid choice when you're out in the field or don't have a hose shop nearby. Will this here fitting work with a regular rubber hose, or does it need something special?

This fitting is designed for use with Aeroquip Socketless hose. Using it with other types of hose might cause leaks or a failure.
