Will this fitting hold up alright if I'm using it in a system that vibrates a bit?

fitting says it goes vacuum to 150 psi -- is that enough for a standard air brake line or am I gonna need something beefier?

For typical air brake system pressures, 150 psi is right in the working range. These systems generally run well under that ceiling, so this fitting handles the load without issue. The vacuum-to-150 psi range covers both ends of what you'd encounter in normal air brake service, and it carries D.O.T. FMVSS 571.106 and SAE J1131 certifications to back that up.

got 1/4 inch air brake tubing. does this fitting go straight into it and seal up, or do i need anything else?

For a 1/4 inch tube OD, it is a push to connect style that seals by gripping the tube and seating on an EP O-ring. You assemble it by pushing the tubing in until you feel a solid stop, and that completes the grip and seal.
