Will this connector hold up in an air brake system on a semi?

This fitting is definitely designed for demanding air brake applications. It meets D.O.T. and SAE standards for those systems, plus it's made from CA360 brass, so it should handle the vibrations pretty well.

fitting says it goes up to 150 psi, is that enough for a standard air brake setup on a commercial truck?

Air brake systems on commercial vehicles typically run well under that ceiling, so 150 psi covers normal operating pressure with room to spare. The fitting also handles vacuum on the low end, which matters for certain brake circuit configurations. The temperature range runs from -40F up to 200F, so cold weather startups and heat soak near the axle aren't going to push it outside its limits either.

got a 5/8 air brake line, will this fitting grab it right and thread into a 1/2 NPT port?

It matches 0.63 inch tube OD on the push to connect side and it has a 1/2-14 male NPT thread on the other end, straight configuration.
