Can I use this with nylon tubing in my garage, which gets pretty cold in the winter?

This fitting is compatible with PT230 and TP160 nylon tubing. It's rated for temperatures between -40F and 200F, so it should hold up even if your garage gets pretty cold.

fitting says it works with PT230 and PT240 tubing -- does that include the nylon kind or just polyethylene?

Both, actually. The PT230 and TP160 are nylon tubing, and the PT240 is polyethylene. This fitting is rated for all three, so whichever you're running in your system, you're covered as long as the tube OD matches the 0.16-inch spec.

got some 0.16 tube already, will this swivel straight adapter screw into a 1/4-18 male NPT port and still let me aim the line where i need it?

For hookup, it’s built as a straight swivel adapter with a 0.16 inch tube OD push to connect end and a 1/4-18 male NPT threaded end. The swivel feature is there to help you get the tube routed without fighting the fitting once it’s threaded in.
