thread size on this is 1 NPT right? just want to make sure before i order, got a fitting i need to match up to

Will this brass nipple work alright with regular black iron pipe?

While both are common hydraulic connections materials, brass is more corrosion-resistant than black iron. Using them together is generally okay, but keep in mind the potential for galvanic corrosion over time, especially if moisture is present.
