trying to step a 3/8 pipe port down to 1/4, is that what this bushing does

For stepping down pipe thread sizes, it’s a 3/8-18 male NPTF on one end and a 1/4-18 female NPTF on the other, so it lets you adapt a 3/8 female NPTF port over to accept a 1/4 male NPTF fitting.
