Product Questions & Answers

Does this adapter need any thread sealant or tape when you're putting it together, or does the flare seat handle all that on its own?
Question by: Marvin S on Jun 12, 2025, 6:03 AM
No sealant or tape needed. The SAE 45-degree flare seats metal-to-metal on both ends, so the connection seals through the flare geometry itself rather than thread compound. That's one of the reasons flare fittings get used in applications where a clean, reliable seal matters without adding extra steps to the install.

got a 3/4 inch tube im trying to hook up, is this the right union for that?
Question by: Wade W on Feb 19, 2026, 8:14 PM
For a 3/4 inch outside diameter tube, this adapter is sized for that use. It is a straight brass union with male SAE 45 degree flare ends, and both ends use 1-1/16-14 threads for the flare nuts.
