bought a 3/4 inch flare cap and just want to make sure -- is this the brass one or is it some other material? got burned before ordering the wrong thing

Brass all the way through. The 40X12 is a solid brass fitting, so it'll hold up well in most standard hydraulic and fluid line applications where brass is the right call. No surprises there.

i just need to cap off a 3/4 tube line with a 45 flare, is that what this 40X12 is for?
