Will this adapter work for hooking up a refrigeration system?

It's suitable for refrigeration applications. This adapter is also designed for LP and natural gas, flammable liquids, instrumentation, power steering, and hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

what all systems can this adapter actually be used on? trying to figure out if it'll work for more than just one application on our equipment

It covers a pretty wide range. LP and natural gas lines, refrigeration systems, power steering, hydraulic and pneumatic setups, and instrumentation are all listed applications. Flammable liquid use is noted as a special order situation, so that one's worth flagging separately if that's what you're dealing with. For most standard shop and field setups though, it fits right into the mix without needing anything unusual.
