Got a 3/8-18 NPT port on a power steering line and need to tie into a 7/8-14 SAE 45 flare fitting. this the right adapter for that?

That's what this one's built for. One end is 3/8-18 male NPT and the other is 7/8-14 male SAE 45 degree flare, so it bridges those two thread types in a straight configuration. Power steering is one of the listed applications, so you're in good shape there.
