Will this here mender work on most any air brake line?

These fittings can be used for nearly any air brake line. They're easy to put together, and this brass gives good protection against rust.

what hoses does this mender actually work with? got a 338 hose on hand and tryin to figure out if this'll do the job

Compatible hoses for this fitting are the H105, H115, and H338. So yes, the H338 hose you have on hand is a confirmed match. Just make sure you follow the three-step assembly process: slide the nut and sleeve onto the hose with the bevel edge of the sleeve facing outward, push the hose in until it bottoms out, then screw the nut down until it contacts the body hex.
