trying to tee off a 3/4 npt line, are all three ports on this one the same thread?

All three ends are 3/4-14 NPTF female threads, so it’s meant to join three matching 3/4-14 NPT connections in a tee.

does this tee need thread sealant or does it seal up on its own?

NPTF threads are built to create a pressure-tight seal through thread-to-thread contact alone, so no sealant is required under normal conditions. That's actually one of the advantages of NPTF over standard NPT. All three ends on this fitting are 3/4-14 NPTF female, so you get that dry-seal capability at every connection point.
