trying to hook two 1/2 inch npt lines together, is this the right coupling or am i missing something

For a straight coupling between two matching pipe threads, it fits the bill since it has 1/2-14 female NPTF threads on both ends. It is meant to join two 1/2-14 male NPT connections.
