fitting says no tube prep needed, does that mean I can just cut my nylon line and push it straight in, or is there something I'm missing?

Cut your 1/4 inch OD nylon tubing clean and square, then push it into the fitting until it seats. No flaring, no deburring tools, no extra steps. The built-in tube support handles the rest. Just make sure you're running SAE J844 Type A or Type B nylon tubing, since that's what this fitting is rated for.
