Product Questions & Answers

What kind of tubing *can* I use with this fitting, and what size?
Question by: Keith R on May 11, 2025, 7:56 PM
This compression fitting is designed for use with aluminum, copper, and plastic tubing that has a 0.38 inch outer diameter. Note that if you're using plastic tubing (except for Eaton PT230), you'll need a 2030 insert.

got some 3/8 inch OD copper tubing I need to union together, will this fitting work for that or do I need something different?
Question by: Lance L on Aug 6, 2025, 5:15 PM
Copper tubing with a 3/8 inch OD is exactly what this fitting is sized for. The tube OD on this union is 0.375 inches, which matches standard 3/8 inch copper. No flaring required either. You just slide the nut and sleeve onto the tube, seat the tubing against the shoulder inside the fitting body, and tighten the nut down. For 3/8 inch tube, that means snugging it hand tight and then turning it another 2-1/4 turns with a wrench. CA360 brass construction, so it plays nice with copper without any galvanic headaches.

It’s made for 0.375 inch tube OD, which is the standard 3/8 inch size. It’s a brass compression union intended for aluminum, copper, and plastic tubing.

What kind of pressure can this thing handle?
Question by: Diane L on Mar 22, 2026, 8:33 PM
This fitting can handle a working pressure up to 2000 psi, but that depends on the size of the tubing you're using with it. There's also a 4:1 safety factor built in.

got some 3/8 tubing already ran, can i just splice it together with this union or do i gotta flare anything
Question by: Dustin T on Mar 3, 2026, 6:11 PM
No flaring is needed. It is a compression union made to join 3/8 inch tube OD tubing, and it’s intended for instrumentation, hydraulic, and pneumatic service with plastic, copper, or aluminum tube.
