does this fitting work on half inch OD plastic tubing, or is it only rated for copper and aluminum?

Half-inch OD plastic tubing is fully supported by this fitting, right alongside copper and aluminum. The compression design grips the outside diameter of the tube, so the material just needs to measure out to that 0.50 inch OD to get a proper seat. All three tube types are explicitly covered under this part.
