Been running a Muncie PL25 for years and it finally gave out on me. This Permco unit a straight swap for it?

it's a direct replacement for the Muncie PL25. Same 4-bolt SAE B mounting flange and 13-tooth SAE B splined shaft, so the physical fitment lines right up. Port size is 1-1/4 NPT on both the side and rear, which matches the PL25 layout. Just make sure your unused ports get plugged before you fire it up.

What kind of filtration is best with this motor?

A 25 micron return filter with a B10 rating of at least 2.2 is recommended for optimal filtration.

got a Muncie PL25 on a piece of equipment, is this Permco motor actually the right replacement or am i gonna be fighting the mount and shaft

For replacement purposes, it is called out as replacing a Muncie PL25, and it comes with a 4 bolt SAE B mounting flange plus a 13 tooth SAE B splined shaft. Porting is 1-1/4 NPT with ports on both sides and the rear, and the two ports you do not use need to be plugged.
