What kind of spills is this boom actually meant for, or will it soak up water too?
Question by: Randy E on Mar 6, 2026, 12:57 PM
Oil-only booms like this one are built to pull in petroleum-based fluids while leaving water behind. That makes them real useful when you've got a sheen or slick on water or a wet surface and you don't want the boom getting waterlogged. If you're dealing with a straight oil or hydraulic fluid spill on a shop floor or around equipment, it'll handle that too. Just keep in mind it's not the right call for chemical spills or anything water-based.
