when i shut a line off, is this valve gonna bleed off that trapped pressure or does it just stop flow

When you move it to the closed position, the built-in venting function automatically relieves pressure trapped between the ball and the downstream seat. It is meant to help prevent pressure buildup in an isolated section after shutoff.

It's a 3/4-inch valve, designed for systems that use that size pipe thread.
