got a -16 suction line on a tank, does this hose match that size or am i mixing things up

For sizing, the dash size is -16 and the inside diameter is 1.00 inch, with an outside diameter of 1.50 inch. So if you are replacing a -16, 1 inch ID suction hose, the size lines up.

What kind of fluids can this hose handle, besides just water?

This hose is designed to work with petroleum, phosphate ester hydraulic fluids, lubricating oils, and gasoline in addition to water.
