got a -8 line to replace, is this the one with the 1/2 inch inside size?
Question by: Johnny H on Sep 5, 2025, 12:54 PM
For dash size -8, this hose is a 0.50 inch I.D. (1/2 inch). It also lists a 0.87 inch O.D., which can help if you are checking clamp space or routing clearance.

Running a double wire braid on our press line and need something that won't give out under sustained pressure. This one rated for continuous use at 4250 PSI or is that a peak number?
Question by: Lyle W on Jun 27, 2025, 8:51 AM
At 4250 PSI, that's the maximum operating pressure for this hose, and it holds that rating with a 2-ply steel braid construction throughout. The high-tensile steel cords are built into the reinforcement layer specifically to maintain integrity under demanding hydraulic service, not just momentary spikes. For a press line running sustained pressure, that construction is well suited to the load.

trying to swap out a worn hose, is this one actually 1/2 inch inside diameter and the -8 size folks talk about
Question by: Dale A on Nov 29, 2025, 9:51 PM
You are looking at a 0.50 inch inside diameter hose in dash size -8. It’s built as an SAE 100R2AT style with a 2-ply wire braid, so it matches the common -8, 1/2 inch hydraulic hose size class.
