does this wiper ring fit a 2 inch rod or is that just the groove size

The rod diameter on this one is 1.998 inches, so it fits a 2 inch rod. The groove OD comes in at 2.302 inches, which is the outer dimension of the groove it seats into. Two different measurements, both worth knowing before you order.

The rod diameter on this AN-21 wiper ring is 1.998 inches, which is the standard tolerance for a 2.00 inch nominal rod. That fit is intentional. Wiper rings need a close but not binding fit against the rod to do their job, and that slight undersize keeps solid contact without drag that would cause premature wear.
