Got a cylinder with a 1.435 rod on it, will this wiper ring actually fit right, or do I need to look at something else?

That rod diameter is exactly what this ring is built for. The AN-16 fits a 1.435 inch rod and drops into a groove with a 1.739 inch outer diameter. As long as your groove matches up with those dimensions, you're good to go. The Style A profile is a standard configuration, so it plays nice with most conventional hydraulic cylinder groove setups.

Will this wiper ring hold up if it gets pretty cold? We sometimes have temps below zero in the winter.

It's made from urethane, so it should be fine. Urethane stays flexible down to -65°F, so even those really cold snaps shouldn't be a problem for it.
