So this here adapter, will it work with regular hydraulic fluid, or do I need to get something special?

got a line running JIC -6 on one end and half inch NPT on the other, this the right adapter to tie them together?

That's what this one's built for. One end is a -06 male JIC 37-degree flare, the other is a 1/2 inch male NPT, straight configuration. Both threads are male, so make sure your mating connections are female on both sides and you'll be good to go.

got a hose end that’s -6 JIC, i just need to go into a 1/2 npt port. is this the right adapter?

For that hookup, it’s a straight adapter with a -06 male JIC 37 degree flare on one side and a 1/2 inch male NPT on the other, so it matches a -6 JIC female flare connection to a 1/2 NPT female port.
