got a -16 AQP hose, will this fitting match up right or am i barkin up the wrong tree

It’s meant for -16 hose size and it’s specifically a reusable fitting for AQP and StartLite racing hose, so a -16 AQP hose is the intended match.

fitting says it works with AQP and StartLite hose, does that mean it'll work with both, or do i gotta pick one?

Both hose types are supported with this fitting. The FBM1016 is sized for -16 hose across the board, so whether you're running AQP or StartLite racing hose, the fit and cutoff spec stay the same. The hose cutoff dimension is 1.73 inches, which applies to either application.
