Pressure rating on this thing, is 150 PSI the max for a 4 inch size, or is that just a recommended working range?

For the 4 inch size, 150 PSI is the rated working pressure. That holds across sizes up to 4 inch. If you were running a 5 inch or larger, the rating drops down to 75 PSI, but at 4 inch you're sitting at the full 150. Just keep in mind this adapter is for liquid service only, compressed air and steam are off the table regardless of pressure.

got a 4 inch camlock setup already. is this the male half with 4" male NPT threads on the other end?

It is the male cam and groove adapter with a 4 inch male NPT threaded end. It is built to interchange with couplings made to A-A-59326 or DIN 2828 standards, and the 4 inch size carries a 150 PSI pressure rating.

Interchangeability is a key feature; it's designed to work with any product made to A-A-59326 (which used to be MIL-C-27487F) or DIN 2828 standards. Just a heads up, though, the 1/2" and 8" sizes aren't standardized and might not fit perfectly with other brands.
