Product Questions & Answers

safety pins on these cam locks, how do they actually work? like once you couple it up can someone just pull it apart without removing the pin first?
Question by: Cindy W on Oct 31, 2025, 10:24 AM
Once the cam levers are pressed down and the safety pin is in place, the coupler stays locked until that pin gets pulled out. The female half has cast-in lugs, and the pin threads through slots in the cam lever arms after they pass through those lugs. Nobody's uncoupling it by accident with the pin seated. It's a pretty solid secondary retention feature for lines you don't want coming apart under pressure or vibration.

got a 2 inch ID hose, is this the right female camlock to clamp on there?
Question by: Keith F on Apr 14, 2025, 8:49 PM
For a 2 inch ID hose, the hose shank on this coupler is sized for a 2 inch ID hose barb connection. It is the female cam and groove half, and it includes a safety clip.

What kind of stuff is this coupler actually made of?
Question by: Wayne P on Dec 15, 2025, 2:53 PM
The body is aluminum, either A356 or A104. The cam levers are brass, and the pins, rings, and safety clips are plated steel. The seals are Buna-N.

safety pins on this thing -- do they actually lock it so it won't come apart on its own, or is that more of a backup deal?
Question by: Dwayne H on Apr 12, 2025, 6:05 PM
Those pins do real work. The female coupler has cast-in lugs, and once the cam lever arms are engaged, you can run a safety pin through the lugs to physically prevent uncoupling. Nothing comes loose until you pull that pin out yourself. It's not just a backup, it's a true mechanical lock. Good feature to use anytime an accidental disconnect would cause a problem.

got a 2 inch ID hose. does this one clamp right onto it or am i missing another piece
Question by: Neal R on Nov 30, 2025, 4:26 PM
For hookup, the hose end is a 2 inch ID hose barb, so it is meant to go into a 2 inch ID hose and be secured with the proper fitting attachment method for that hose. The cam and groove side is the female coupler half that mates to a matching cam and groove adapter.
